Convert SVG to PNG

SVG is a vector document, so it has no pixels of its own. This page renders it to PNG at the size you choose — useful for previews, documents and any software that only accepts bitmaps.

SVG · Up to 200 images per batch, 50 MB per file.

Files are read locally by your browser and are never uploaded to a server.

    SVG+XML → PNG

    Output size
    Export scale

The artwork is scaled proportionally; fonts must be available on this device.

SVG is a description of shapes, not a grid of pixels. Converting it to PNG means deciding how many pixels to draw — and that is the only setting this page really needs.

Why turn an SVG into a PNG

Keep the SVG as the master file if you may need a different size later; a PNG is a snapshot at one resolution.

    Choose the output size

Original uses the width and height written in the SVG. When the document only defines a viewBox, that box’s ratio decides the proportions, and the pixel size follows the box’s own units.

Width keeps the aspect ratio and fits the PNG to the width you type — the height is calculated. This is the usual choice for a web asset.

Custom lets you type both numbers. If they do not match the SVG’s ratio, the artwork is stretched to fill the box.

Scale 2x / 3x multiplies whichever size is selected. Use it when the PNG will be shown on a high-density screen or printed.

    Transparency

PNG has an alpha channel, so the SVG’s transparent areas carry over unchanged. Cut-out regions stay clear instead of becoming a white matte, and the result can sit on any background.

What does not survive the conversion

The browser loads the SVG as an image. Scripts inside the file do not execute, and linked resources such as web fonts or external images are not fetched. Text is drawn with a local fallback font when the original font is not installed. Flatten the document in a vector editor first if those details matter.

    How to judge the result

There is no such thing as “shrinking” a vector into a bitmap, so only three things matter:

A PNG is always larger than the SVG that produced it: the SVG stores which shapes to draw, while the PNG stores a colour for every pixel. A bigger file does not mean the conversion went wrong, and it is not a reason to change the settings.

    How to use it

    1. Drop in one or more SVG files. Other formats are refused, because this page only converts vectors.
    2. Set the size. Pick original, a width, or exact dimensions; add a scale if you need more pixels.
    3. Rendering starts on import and repeats after each settings change. The card shows the source and the new PNG size.
    4. Download. Save each PNG on its own, or take the batch as a ZIP.

    Frequently asked questions

What size will the PNG be?+

By default it keeps the width and height declared in the SVG. If the document only has a viewBox, that ratio is used; a file with neither falls back to 300 × 150.

    How do I get a sharper PNG?+

Use the 2x or 3x scale, or type an exact width. The vector is redrawn at the larger size, so the result stays crisp instead of being stretched.

    Is the PNG background transparent?+

Yes. The PNG keeps the SVG's transparent areas, so they stay clear instead of turning into a white matte, and the image can sit on any background.

Why does my SVG look different from the editor?+

The browser draws the file as an image, so scripts inside it do not run and external fonts or linked images are not fetched. Text may therefore fall back to a local font.

Can I convert several SVGs at once?+

Yes. Drop in a batch, adjust the size if needed, and each file is rendered in turn. Download them individually or as a single ZIP.

Can I turn a PNG back into an SVG?+

Not really. SVG describes shapes, and a bitmap does not contain that information. Tracing tools can approximate it, but the result is a pile of paths rather than clean vectors. Keep the original SVG if you may need to edit it.

Why is the PNG pixelated at the default size?+

Because the SVG declares a small width and height. Raise the scale to 2x or 3x, or type a larger width, and the vector is redrawn at that resolution instead of being stretched afterwards.
